The West Virginia Mountaineers will wear blue helmets, white jerseys and white pants for their game against the Texas Longhorns. This will be the third time the team has worn this particular combination. They are 0-2 in their first two games as Blue/White/White.
The Mountaineers first wore this combination against Baylor in 2013, where they were rolled 73-42. They wore the combination again in 2014 against the Longhorns, in Austin. The Mountaineers lost that game 33-16.
You may not remember the 2014 game against the Longhorns. That would be the game where players famously lifted head coach Charlie Strong in the air and allowed him to crowd surf on them as they finally beat a ranked opponent in the Charlie Strong era.
Texas running D’Onta Foreman enters Saturday’s game leading the Big 12 in rushing yards by a large margin. Foreman is the only running back over 1,400 yards. In fact he is the only player over 900 yards rushing in the conference. Oklahoma’s Joe Mixon is second in the confernece with 814 yards.
