University Prep star Kenny Robinson chose the Mountaineers over former rivals Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. According to the Post-Gazette
Robinson, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound transfer from University Prep, plays quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back for Imani but is projected as a linebacker in college. Iowa State and Pitt were his other finalists, and he also had offers from Virginia Tech and Toledo before choosing the Mountaineers.
Earlier this month, Robinson threw for 448 yards in a loss to Frazier, the seventh-most single-game passing yards in WPIAL history. He also has scored 11 touchdowns in his first season with the Saints, who have clinched a spot in the Class 1A playoffs.
Robinson had Pittsburgh and West Virginia as both neck and neck during his comments to recruiting sites. Robinson is 12th ranked player in Pennsylvania and the 54th ranked national player at linebacker.
"I picked WVU because they just feel like the right fit for me," Robinson told EerSports after his decision. "Also because they have been here throughout the process. I built a relationship with the coaches over time."
