West Virginia Football Thread Alert: Old School Road Uniforms

The Mountaineers have already worn the old school home uniform combination, now they will go on the road with the traditional road uniforms.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will don their traditional road uniforms this week for their game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The helmets will be blue, the uniforms will be white and the pants will be gold.

It’s an old school look for the Mountaineers who are looking for their first 7-0 start since 2006. Standing in their way will be the Cowboys, featuring junior quarterback Mason Rudolph. The Mountaineers have never worn their traditional road uniforms with the new uniforms they debuted in 2013.

The Cowboys and Mountaineers have played some very close, tight-fought games over the past 4 years. WVU is ahead in the all-time series 4-3. Oklahoma State won last year’s game 33-26 in an overtime battle in Morgantown.

The game will also feature a return of Holgorsen and co-offensive coordinator Joe Wickline to Boone Pickens Stadium, where both helped the Cowboys reach 11-1 in 2010. Wickline joined the Mountaineers this year to help with offensive line and tight ends and the return on investment has been immediate.
