Saturday’s win over the Kansas State Wildcats left fans thrilled as the Mountaineers are 4-0 for the first time since 2012, when they first entered the Big 12. Not only did the Mountaineers score 17 points in the second half to win, they did it against the nation’s number one ranked defense in yards per game.

Shelton Gibson’s 52 yard grab while being “de-horned” by cornerback DJ Reed. This play ignited the fans, who were in disbelief a flag wasn’t thrown. Shelton immediately popped up, adrenaline rushing, pounded his chest to let both sides know he had come to play. Shelton would finish with 3 catches for 104 yards, averaging over 34 yards per catch. Gibson has proven to be the catalyst for the Mountaineers providing spark after spark in each of their first four games.
