Teddy Allen, a 6'5 shooting guard/small forward from Nebraska, has committed to Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Allen, who attends Boys Town High School, chose the Mountaineers over Iowa State, Cincinnati, DePaul, and others. He made his announcement via YouTube video:
Allen is an under-the-radar recruit and is not ranked by most services. He caught the attention of the Mountaineers and other schools thanks to an impressive summer on the AAU circuit.
According to nebhssports.com, Allen averaged 26.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for Boys Town last season. He shot 47% from the field, 41% from three, and 80% from the free throw line.
Allen joins Brandon Knapper of South Charleston (WV), Derek Culver of Warren G. Harding (OH), and D'Angelo Hunter of Navarro College (TX) for the 2017 class. As of now, there are no more open scholarships, though in the past hasn't stopped Huggins from continuing to recruit.
