A 6'4 290 pound offensive tackle from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Jacob Buccigrossi was the first offensive lineman to commit in the 2016 class. The Mountaineers beat out Virginia, Arizona, Syracuse, Northwestern, Temple and Toledo for the services of the offensive lineman who will likely convert to guard at the college level.
Given that nearly every lineman to play under Dana Holgorsen and Ron Crook redshirts their true freshman season, a red shirt is very likely for the interior offensive lineman. Buccigrossi was considered either a three or two star prospect, depending on the service. Buccigrossi tore his labrum and had shoulder surgery to repair it late in 2015, so he will also benefit from sitting out in that aspect as well. Regardless, as an early enrollee, he'll have a chance to make a good first impression with the coaching staff and catch on early.
And, as always, prepare for the #BuccigrossiOvertimeChallenge.
