EGlobe Institute (NY) cornerback Mike Daniels has signed his National Letter of Intent to play for West Virginia University this morning. The 6'0", 220-pound defensive back committed to the Mountaineers on Tuesday morning, helping to fill a position of need on the depth chart.

The Miami, Florida native, originally out of South Dade High School, runs a 4.5 40-yard dash and should be able to contribute immediately, at least on special teams. Daniels has the size, speed and mental toughness to be able to hang with the best of the receivers in the Big 12 Conference.

Daniels was named a Second Team National Junior College All-American in 2015 for his performance at Globe Institute. He racked up 36 tackles, 7 interceptions, 2 touchdowns, 2 pass breakups and a blocked kick during the 2015 season for the Knights.

He will have three years to play two while at West Virginia, meaning he has a redshirt year remaining. Daniels also held offers from Arizona, Kansas and Purdue.
