Part of a nine person greenshirt class (early enrollees), Jeffery Pooler was once committed to Toledo and the University of Maryland before de-commiting due to rumors of Randy Edsall's firing. Once back on the market, West Virginia coaches made sure to give Pooler a chance to see Morgantown and secured his commitment.
The Dayton, Ohio defensive tackle has great starting size for an incoming senior, measuring 6'-4" and weighing close to 300 pounds, Pooler has the size to help man the nose tackle position in Tony Gibson's 3-3-5 stack defense. As a senior, Pooler recorded 82 tackles, eight sacks, five forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Pooler was the Southwest Ohio Defensive Player of the Year. He was also an AP Division IV All Ohio Honorable Mention as a senior.
Pooler held offers from Toledo, Maryland, Tennessee, Temple, Ohio and Bowling Green. Pooler is rated a 2-star prospect by Rivals, Scout and 247 Sports.
