Cody Saunders is officially a West Virginia Mountaineer (actually he's been official for a few weeks now)

One of nine greenshirts (early enrollees) for West Virginia, quarterback Cody Saunders looks the part of the next great Air Raid passer. Saunders represents the evolution of the quarterback position under head coach Dana Holgorsen. Saunders totaled over 6900 yards in his high school career while scoring 61 touchdowns.

Cody Saunders is a versatile quarterback who threw for over 4700 yards and 37 touchdown while running for another 2200 yards and 24 scores.

The Mountaineers pounced early on Saunders, offering him a scholarship in April and bringing him to Morgantown for the annual Gold/Blue spring football game. Dana Holgorsen and his staff have made an effort to recruit more athletic quarterbacks in the last few years and Saunders continues that trend. Cody held offers from South Florida, Georgia Southern, Florida Atlantic, and Southern Mississippi.
