Wide Receiver Steven Smothers is now officially a West Virginia Mountaineer. The 5'10", 152 lb. Baltimore native committed to WVU in August 2015 and officially signed his National Letter of Intent today to play football in Morgantown for Coach Dana Holgorsen.
The comparisons to Tavon Austin will be fast and furious considering that Smothers is a shorter wide receiver, speedy, shifty, and excellent hands (not to mention the fact that he's from northwest Baltimore and godbrothers with Tavon Austin himself.) The future is very bright for Steven and as he will hopefully provide the Mountaineers with playmaking ability from the slot very soon.
Welcome home Steven!
