Wendell Smallwood rode his Big 12 rushing championship to the 153rd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Wendell showed off his versatility during his three years as a Mountaineer becoming a do-it-all back capable of blocking in pass protection, catching out of the backfield, lining up as a receiver or converting 3rd-and-22 in critical bowl games.
The Delaware native will now join Darren Sproles in Philadelphia. The NFL has become more of a pass-happy league and a versatile back like Wendell is always able to contribute.
With the 153rd pick in the NFL Draft, the #Eagles select RB Wendell Smallwood.
