James "Beetle" Bolden To Miss Season With Torn ACL

The true freshman point guard was expected to get some backup minutes this season.

True freshman point guard James "Beetle" Bolden will miss the 2015-16 basketball season due to a torn ACL and sprained MCL, per WVU's official website.

Bolden, a 6'0 guard from Holmes High School in Kentucky, was expected to get some reserve minutes for the Mountaineers this season. During the team's trip to the Bahamas, head coach Bob Huggins said that Bolden was making the best decisions in transition of anyone on the team. He averaged 10.7 points per game during the trip.

This injury puts a little more pressure on Jevon Carter and Tarik Phillip, who will share the majority of the point guard duties.

Fellow freshman Esa Ahmad weighed in with his thoughts:

Bolden will be able to redshirt this season and still have four years of eligibility remaining.
