SB Nation Writer Development Program & Help Wanted

Internship

SB Nation is seeking applicants for a competitive digital media internship program, which would run from mid-June through September. Participants will get weekly coursework and participate in seminars taught by full time SB Nation staffers on multiple aspects of the digital media industry including: social media, production of shortform content (GIFS, Vines, etc), the finer points of conducting interviews, legal and ethics in the real world, career guidance and mentoring, and more. Participants would also regularly write sports articles that will be monitored, edited and critiqued as they move through the program. 

At the end of the program, at least one participant will be offered a part-time job with the SB Nation Newsdesk, and all will get extra consideration for future SB Nation positions. Completion of the program will give participants all the skills they need to be successful as not just SB Nation writers, but in the rapidly growing world of digital media content production.

To be considered for this opening, a candidate needs:

* The ability to join online weekly online seminars held on weekday evenings 
* A self-starter attitude
* A comfort level with working in a virtual environment
* Working knowledge with Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks
* A passion for sports
* Strong writing skills, including grammar, organization and voice

Previous writing experience is preferred, but not required.

Daily Link Dump (Shotgun/Throwdown)

I'm also looking for someone to help lighten my load with the daily link dump in the mornings. The ideal candidate would be willing to help build the morning news roundup. I'm not asking for someone to do it exactly like I do it. Creative freedom will absolutely be given. The big key to this position is that it's daily, through the week and ideally able to be posted by 9-10am each day. I've been doing it almost non-stop for seven years and it's time for someone else to keep us up to date.

Again, the biggest requirement to this is that it's an everyday post through the week (Saturdays and Sundays off, if you want). We have tools to make grabbing the articles much easier than copying and pasting for hours on end. If you ever wanted to be a part of our staff, this is a great place to start (it's how I got started).
