The non-conference slate is highlighted by SEC opponent Missouri to open up the season at home and a neutral site game with BYU at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland (just outside of DC). Once again, the first off-week will come after the second game. The second one will come early as well, October 8. WVU will have seven home games in addition to the neutral site game in Maryland.
Special dates like Homecoming, Mountaineer Week and the color coded fan games will be designated later.
Here's what Lyons had to say:
"It's good to be able to release the schedule early so that our fans have time to plan their fall weekends," Director of Athletics Shane Lyons said. "Adding Missouri, Youngstown State and BYU to an already powerful Big 12 slate gives us one of the more challenging schedules in the country. I also like the fact that we will be able to play another game in the Washington, D.C. area, where we have a large and faithful fan base. Not only does the schedule play out nicely for our team, but also for our fans." - WVUsports.com
