Just days after receiving a commitment from 6'8 forward Sagaba Konate, Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers picked up another target.
Maciej Bender, a 6'10 power forward from Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Virginia, made his pledge to Huggins and the Mountaineers this evening.
Thank you to all the schools that recruited me, but I'm proud to say that I have commited to West Virginia Univeristy! #coutryroadtakemehome

All of the chatter coming out of Morgantown was that Bender was the number one recruit West Virginia had zeroed in on. On September 26th, Bender joined Konate on a visit to campus, and apparently both liked what they saw. Those two join Chase Harler for the 2016 class.
Bender appears to be the prototypical stretch four, with the ability to shoot the three and attack off the dribble. He chose West Virginia over Ole Miss, Arizona State, and others.
