Just like that, 2018 is shaping up to be a big out of conference year for the Mountaineer football team. Yesterday it was announced that the WVU would play a neutral site game against Tennessee in Charlotte North Carolina. Today it was announced that WVU and North Carolina State would play a two game series. The first in Raleigh, NC in 2018 and then in Morgantown in 2019.
The two teams have faced off ten times with each team winning five games. The last win for the Mountaineers was in the 1975 Peach Bowl. So, we're due. Back to the original point, that's two Big 5 conference games in 2018 along with the regular Big 12 slate of games. Oliver Luck is anything but timid in lining up opponents for the Mountaineers. There's no doubt that West Virginia will have earned everything they get. And as we move to the new playoff system for college football, strength of schedule is going to be a big deal.
