With the 14th pick in the West Virginia Football All-Time Draft, Team MKirchner12 selects Aaron Beasley, Cornerback.
A three year starter for the Mountaineers, Aaron Beasley emerged as one of WVU's greatest defensive backs ever, and one of our few NFL veteran mainstays in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Beasley truly made his name known with his 1994 campaign. He led the nation (and set a WVU single-season record) with 10 interceptions, with two of those going for touchdowns. He had a pick in six straight games and, hilariously, had three interceptions against Virginia Tech.
LOL, Hokies.
That effort was rewarded with consensus First Team All-American status, and he was a Jim Thorpe Award Semi-Finalist as well as a First Team All-Big East.
Beasley went on to a successful nine season stint in the NFL, most notably with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he finished his professional career with 24 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, and 8.5 sacks.
Beasley was an all around great defensive talent with a ball-hawk mentality, making him the perfect player to start out the secondary of Team MKirchner12.
SmithFire13, you're on the clock!
