West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball: Guard Terry Henderson To Transfer

WVU is losing second guard to transfer this offseason.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Oh...the hits just keep on coming...

Just days after Sophomore guard Eron Harris was given his official transfer release, Coach Huggins released a short statement today that Terry Henderson has asked for his release and will be transferring as well:

"We have enjoyed Terry and his contributions to Mountaineer basketball," says Huggins. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors." - WVUSports.com

Speculation on the future of point guard Juwan Staten was settled shortly after Harris first announced his intention to transfer. With Staten returning, plus the addition of Jonathan Holton, Elijah Macon, Jevon Carter, Tarik Phillip and Dax Miles, this looked to be a team that could weather the blow of losing Harris. Now...?

I'll leave you with this bit from Mike Casazza:

Of the 16 players signed in the first three recruiting classes after the Final Four, Henderson is the 12th to transfer or to have never played for WVU. That’s a deadly number for a program. Really, I’m not being mean. I’m not trying to be antagonistic. I’m being honest. It’s very difficult to build or sustain, never mind win and attract, with that sort of attrition.

I'm at a loss.
