West Virginia Mountaineers Football: Pro Day 2014 Roundup

It was a chance for former Mountaineer players (and others) to showcase their talent for NFL scouts.

For those unaware, every year (at least recently) many of the FBS schools hold what they call a "Pro Day" for the all of the players who have used up their eligibility to showcase their talents for NFL scouts, especially those not invited to the NFL Combine.

This is also an opportunity for former players who are still trying to get into the league or back into the league. There are also players from local smaller schools (like Fairmont State and Shepherd, for example) trying to get a shot at the big time.

Among the players trying to get back into the league are former Mountaineer great Noel Devine. I don't want to spoil it for you, but he kind of stole the show.

Also among those taking part in the event were Darwin Cook, Shaq Rowell, Charles Sims, Pat Eger, Ivan McCartney, Will Clarke, Curtis Feigt & Doug Rigg.

Here are some more features recapping the event in more detail:

"There was questions about me: While I was playing I used to wear a knee brace, so I wanted to come out and show the scouts what I could do without my knee brace," Rowell said. "I felt like I was pretty athletic today."
