For week's, the vast majority of the pundits have projected WVU to be playing in the Liberty Bowl against an SEC foe. Today that became official and the Mountaineers will face Tennessee Texas A&M in Memphis on Monday, December 29th at 2 pm ET.

Tennessee finished the 2014 season with a .500 mark (6-6, 3-5 SEC). Butch Jones' team was impressive in losses to Missouri and Georgia and their best win was over a down South Carolina squad.
Well, that's a bit of a last second curveball. Thanks SEC! And sorry folks!
It'll be the battle of the coaches vs their former bosses. As you probably already know, Coach Holgorsen was an Offensive Coordinator for Kevin Sumlin at Houston. Plus, Aggie OC Jake Spavital was a long time assistant under Holgorsen, starting back as a graduate assistant before becoming the quarterbacks coach here at WVU, then moving on to Texas A&M to be the Offensive Coordinator there. Time is a flat circle.
The best part of this matchup is that we have the entire Big 12 conference behind us. They ALL HATE the Aggies.
There is the possibility that quarterback Clint Trickett could return for the game, but after last week, it's nice to know that Skyler Howard is up to the task if Clint isn't cleared. The extra practices and a possible bowl victory could do wonders for a WVU team heading into 2015 looking for a quarterback and replacement playmakers at the receiving positions.
The Mountaineers will be returning to a bowl game after a one year absence last season. Before that, WVU had appeared in post-season bowl games for eleven straight seasons, going back to the 2002 season.
