WV Moonshiner maintains the contest lead, while JP Fanshawe retakes the overall lead. Don't look now, but yours truly is making the staff standings interesting again.
Because it's a cumulative score game, you can miss a week or two and catch up. Here are the top eleven (with ties):

We only have 16 games to pick this week, starting with Friday at 8 pm ET. Make sure you at least have your tie breakers in by then. Deadline for each game pick is 5 minutes before kickoff.
Also, as a way to change things up a bit this year, we will also be featuring staff predictions for the weekly WVU game (or game of interest on the off-weeks). Here are the staff predictions for the WVU/Texas game (in Gauntlet ranking order with total score in parentheses):
West Virginia 34, Texas 17
Perhaps hidden behind the sadness and myopia that last week's loss caused is the fact that our defense gave up just 14 points off of five turnovers, four of which came in WVU's own territory, and that was against a better offense than Texas has. The Longhorns are 104th in yards per point and I expect our defense to make points hard to come by for them. The offense gets back on track, and Kevin White gets back to double-digit catches.
Mountaineers get some measure of revenge for Charlie Strong's last game against them
WVU 48 UT 31
I believe Dana Holgorsen doesn't like having to say over and over how he takes responsibility for the poor performance of the offense. He'll take responsibility for the offense again this week, but in a completely different way.
The Eyes of Dub V are upon you,
All the live long day.
The Eyes of Dub V are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Chuck Strong sucks, Dana's awesome
At night til early in the morn-
The Eyes of Dub V are upon you
Till Denver sings his song.
WVU 54 Texas 20
Mountaineers offense runs rampant while the defense holds strong
D White (108)
WVU 24, Texas 20
Texas is playing better, and WVU will have a little bit of a hangover from last week's devastating loss. The good guys get a scare but hang on for the victory.
WVU 42 Texas 21
WVU jumps out quickly and never looks back. The offense gets back on track and the defense continues to play lights out. A late score by Texas reduces the margin of victory, but doesn't take away from WVU's impressive bounce back.
WVU 42 TEXAS 13
WVU's defense plays with a vengeance and Clint Trickett goes back to his bread and butter by throwing to White over and over. Texas is never in the game and Charlie Strong is sad.
The tower will not be orange.
West Virginia 29 Texas 13
It will be interesting to see how WVU recovers after such a body blow. If they can get past Texas it sets them up to be in a good place for a huge game against Kansas State. At this point I've seen Clint Trickett fade 2 weeks in a row so I'm not at all convinced by the WVU offense. I see a lot of work for Josh Lambert in their future (#GiveHimTheGroza). On the other side of the coin I'm a 100% believer that Texas won't be able to handle the Mountaineer D. WVU escapes with an ugly win.
