The West Virginia football team has a couple of reasons to be proud tonight as receiver Kevin White and kicker Josh Lambert were both named as finalists for prestigious major college awards today.

White was named as one of three finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation's best receiver. The senior leads WVU with 98 receptions for 1270 yards and 9 touchdowns. The other finalists for the Biletnikoff are Amari Cooper from Alabama and Rashard Higgins from Colorado State.

You can still vote daily for the "fan vote" portion of the award at THIS LINK. The WVUSports.com release can be found HERE.

Lambert was one of the three finalists named for the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award on Tuesday. With one game to go in the regular season, Lambert is one field goal shy of tying the NCAA FBS record for made kicks longer than 40 yards away (he has 13 currently). He has also connected on 4 field goals of longer than 50 yards thus far this season, including a 55 yard game winner at Texas Tech.

The other Groza Award finalists are Brad Craddock from Maryland and Roberto Aguayo from Florida State. The WVUSports.com release for the Groza announcement can be found HERE.

Both awards (along with many others) will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show airing live on ESPN from the Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's Boardwalk at the Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:00 pm ET.
