We have seen postings on Twitter that he was interviewing, but now we are seeing the first published report of former Mountaineer quarterback and graduate assistant JaJuan Seider being hired to replace Robert Gillespie as running backs coach for Coach Dana Holgorsen.
A Belle Glade, Florida, native, Seider began his college career as a backup quarterback at WVU before transferring to Florida A&M and eventually getting drafted by the San Diego Chargers. He then spent several years coaching high school in south Florida before eventually returning to WVU as a graduate assistant under offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Jeff Mullen. When Doc Holliday was hired at Marshall, Seider and his strong Florida recruiting ties followed him for his first college job as a full assistant (running backs) and recruiting coordinator.
This should be yet another great hire as far as recruiting goes, assuming this hire pans out. Seider's hiring would definitely fill the Florida recruiting void that Gillespie was also charged with.
Stay tuned as we wait for more reports and official word.
UPDATE: He's officially hired
Welcome Home WVU grad JaJaun Seider as WVU RB Coach. The T.E.A.M. is finally ready for Sunday's Spring FB #1.
