QB Chavas Rawlins Officially A Mountaineer

Dual-threat QB chooses WVU over Pitt and North Carolina

Chavas Rawlins, a 6'2, 190 lbs quarterback from Monessen High School, east of Pittsburgh, has committed to the West Virginia University Mountaineers. His decision came back in May 2012 and has already enrolled at WVU as of this spring semester. His other offers came strongly from Pitt and North Carolina where his decision was tough due to his late stepfather Jo Jo Health and older brother both are former Panthers.

While the quarterback position is currently crowded with Paul Millard and Ford Childress as front-runners for the 2013 season, Rawlins has great potential to become a dual threat quarterback in every sense. This would be quite the experiment for Coach Holgorsen due to the usual pocket passer tendencies of his past stars.

Welcome aboard, Chavas. I expect to hear all of Monessen High School to know the words to Country Roads by 2014.
