Dumb turnovers, poor shooting, stupid fouls, defensive breakdowns, missed layups.
Pick a dubious basketball act. You name it, WVU committed it. It got so bad that Huggs sat virtually all of the regulars with four minutes to go.
The first three quarters of the game were fairly even, but then it all fell apart about midway through the second half. WVU only trailed by four at the half and Baylor kept trying to break it open, only to have the Mountaineers counter-punch and keep things interesting. But it was only a matter of time before all of the mistakes caught up with WVU.
Once again officiating was horrid, but there were many bad calls both ways.
Brady Heslip proved once again to provide the three point daggers that cemented WVU's fate tonight with six made treys. He finished with 20. Baylor's main scorer Pierre Jackson contributed 15 and the Bears also got 22 from Rico Gathers off the bench.
Eron Harris led the Mountaineer scoring with 19 and Deniz Kilicli was the only other Mountaineer in double figures with 13.
WVU is back in action Saturday at 4 pm ET against Texas Tech at the Coliseum.
