As reported by Bruce Feldman earlier today, WVU head football coach Dana Holgorsen has signed a new contract extension through the 2017 season.
Under the agreement, the second-year head coach will be paid an annualized salary of $2.3 million this season -- $250,000 in base pay and the remainder in supplemental pay -- all from revenue generated by the athletic department or private sources -- “very much in line with other Big 12 and major college coaches’ salaries,” according to Luck. - WVUSports.com
What's not clear is the report by BlueGoldNews which states that Coach Holgorsen has a $2 million dollar buyout if he were to leave early and WVU would face no reciprocal buyout to the coach if he were to be terminated. But this is listed right after a quote from the press release that says WVU will owe damages if Holgorsen were to be fired. It's not a big issue, but curious, nonetheless.
