Sunday Post-Game Hangover: Rutgers (1/15/12) Edition

As a friend of mine so eloquently put it yesterday afternoon, there are 3 certainties in life: death, taxes...and WVU beating Rutgers. Kevin Jones did what Kevin Jones does and the Mountaineers put away the Scarlet Knights early, leading 48-22 at halftime on their way to a 84-60 victory. Complete coverage of the rout is inside, including several player features and coverage of the players reunion that was attended by over 100 former Mountaineer cagers.

Rutgers Routed Again - BGN
Deniz Kilicli predicted it on Friday: if West Virginia could avoid the trap of thinking its opponent was "just Rutgers" and start Saturday’s game against the Scarlet Knights with energy, it could bury RU just like it did at the RAC 10 days earlier. Boy, was he right.

That is why, in what was a rather impressive victory by West Virginia University over Rutgers on Saturday, an 84-60 thumping, it is all right to find a moment of humor and, as always, the humor was brought to us by the greatest Turkish import since the bath, Deniz Kilicli.
