With 8 days remaining until the 2011 season begins for the Mountaineer, we honor former WR Danny Buggs.

Buggs spent the 1972 - 1974 seasons with the Mountaineers after sitting out the 1971 season for academic reasons. Also a dangerous punt returner, Buggs was a threat to score every time he touched the ball. During the 1972 campaign alone he scored 14 touchdowns (averaging one touchdown for every five times he touched the ball). Following the 1973 season, he was selected to the First Team of Kodak All-Americans. Over his career, he totaled 86 catches for 1796 yards and 15 touchdowns (with a long of 96 yards), 36 rushes for 533 yards and 6 touchdowns plus 41 punt returns for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns (with a long of 95 yards). Bugss was drafted in 1975 by the Giants, but didn't see any action on the field until he signed with the Redskins in 1976. He stayed with the Redskins through the 1979 season before moving to the CFL for 3 seasons, then the USFL for 3 seasons.

Also considered for today was Khori Ivy.
