The Shotgun/Throwdown: Tuesday (8/16/11) Edition

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Samuel Smith Taddy Porter, in honor of today's Miss Throwdown.

There wasn't any practice session yesterday, but that's the beauty of fall camp...there's still plenty to write and read about. Holgorsen is adjusting to his new role, as in not just focusing on offense and is spreading his time monitoring the entire team. Jeff Casteel gets some press today and gives a progress report on the defense that should make the Mountaineer fans happy. Several players are also the focus of features today. Let's get started:

What You May Have Missed:

Holgorsen branching as the head coach at WVU - Register-Herald
"I’m going to call the plays, and I signal in the stuff, but for the last 12 plays (Friday), I let somebody else signal in the plays, because I have guys that I trust who can get it called correctly and make good decisions," Holgorsen said. "That allows me to do other things. It’s balance more than anything."
