With 24 days left until the beginning of the season, today we honor former running back Artie Owens:
Owen played for WVU during the 1972 - 1975 seasons. During his playing time, he accumulated 2648 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground while averaging 6.4 yards per carry. He topped the 1000 yard mark in both his junior and senior seasons, playing in only 6 games in each of those years. He also managed to haul in 17 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns.
