Joe Alexander and his Texas Legends face elimination tonight in game two of the best-of-three series against the Tulsa 66'ers. The Legends lost by a score of 94-83 over the 4th seeded 66'ers squad. Alexander had a team high 15 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.
The game came after Alexander earned NBDL Player of the Week honors as he had three huge games to help the Legends clinch the last playoff spot. The Legends clinched their playoff berth in a double-OT thriller with Da'Sean Butler watching from the Austin Toros bench. Butler was assigned to the Toros after being signed by the San Antonio Spurs the previous week. The two teams matched up in the final game of the season with Bob Huggins watching his two former players.
The Legends need for Alexander to step up big again tonight. During Wednesday's game, former UConn Husky, Jerome Dyson, led the way for the 66'ers with 23 points. Although the 66'ers are the higher seeded of the two teams, their best player, Larry Owens, who signed with the Washington Wizards for the rest of the season, and two other players out with injuries.
You can watch the game with the following week at 8 p.m. tonight. Legends vs. 66'ers.
