The Shotgun/Throwdown: Wednesday (4/13/11) Edition

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Dornbusch.

WVU spring practice resumed this morning and we're still awaiting reports with bated breath. What I do have in the meantime is several player profile articles and more on the subject of beer sales at Mountaineer Field, including the link to the Board of Governors site where you can let your voice be heard. PROGRAMMING NOTE: Due to unavoidable work issues, the Shotgun/Throwdown will be delayed at least until after lunchtime for tomorrow, Friday and perhaps Monday.

WVU players may have erred on draft - Charleston Gazette
Of what I'm almost 100 percent sure, though, is two West Virginia Mountaineers made bad career moves in regard to the draft. Running back Noel Devine should have made himself available after his junior season instead of returning to WVU. And safety Robert Sands should have stayed for his senior season instead of making himself available for this draft.
