Today the Mountaineers play host to the #7 ranked Fighting Irish of Notre Dame at the Coliseum. Of course, the Irish are led by Ben Hansbrough with his 17+ ppg and 4+ apg, and while if you look at the statistics, WVU is very comparable to this Irish team. The one statistical difference that stands out, and the one the matters most, is the wins. Notre Dame has them (which garnered their somewhat quiet rise in the rankings) and WVU needs some more to bolster their NCAA Tournament resume. A win today would be another quality notch in the belt for this season for the Mountaineers.
It's also reunion day for WVU basketball, as over 90 former players (unfortunately not West, Hundley or Thorn though) are set to be in attendance and recognized at today's game. Television coverage is being provided by CBS. So, sit back, enjoy a beverage and leave your comments with us below.
