The Shotgun/Throwdown: Friday (2/18/11) Edition

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Bitburger Drive.

Another big weekend on tap for the Mountaineers, as the men get set to host Notre Dame and the women travel up I79 to take on Pitt again. As part of the Random Acts of Kindness Week, WVU is asking all of those attending tomorrow's game to please bring a non-perishable food item as a donation for a community food drive. In other news that you may have missed: our own Jerry West was honored with another statue yesterday, this time by the Los Angeles Lakers. Weekend preview coverage starts inside, along with some more football and basketball recruiting bits. And your weekend Big East viewing guide is included as well.

If you have any tips, suggestions or requests for content that you think is worth sharing, you can send them to me by email or Twitter and don't forget to "LIKE" the Smoking Musket MAIN PAGE on Facebook (follow this link, then hit "LIKE" at the top of the page). After the jump is where the fun is...
