The Shotgun/Throwdown: Wednesday (2/16/11) Edition

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Innis and Gunn Oak Aged Beer, in honor of today's Miss Throwdown.

These Monday/Saturday game weeks make for a somewhat slow period in between. You know it's slow when the biggest news in WVU sports today is about Mickey Furfari getting elected to the Basketball Writer's Hall of Fame. Many congratulations to Mickey, by the way. It's a well deserved honor for his life's work (despite his recent rants). There are several bits from WVU's sports campus though, including a couple features on two of the new football staff. With the lack of news, I tried to make it up to you with the recurrance of an old feature that always seemed to please (the timing couldn't have been much better).

If you have any tips, suggestions or requests for content that you think is worth sharing, you can send them to me by email or Twitter and don't forget to "LIKE" the Smoking Musket MAIN PAGE on Facebook (follow this link, then hit "LIKE" at the top of the page). Many thanks to those who already "LIKE" us. We are still at 663. 700 is looming in the distance, but it's in sight. Please, spread the word!! See you after the jump...
