Post-Game Hangover: Miami Hurricanes (12/11/11) Edition

Saturday was another good day for WVU basketball, as both the women and men picked up victories in their final contests before the short break in the schedule for final exams. While the women were never really contested in their game against North Florida, the men were locked in a close game at halftime against Miami. Miami was hitting just about everything they threw up in the first half, only to go without a FG for the better part of the first 9 minutes or so of the second half. Truck and the Turk had big nights as the Mountaineers went on a 31-5 run to start the second half and cruise to an easy win.

West Virginia was hitting its shots early, but its defense looked slow and sluggish. When that changed, so did Saturday’s game against Miami. The Mountaineers clamped down and went on a 31-5 run spanning both halves and pulled away for a 77-66 win over the Hurricanes at the Coliseum.
