Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Nike Pro-Combat.
It's the beginning of opening game-week: Gamecon 5. I've got good news and bad news for you guys here today. First the bad news: The Shotgun/Throwdown will be on hiatus (semi?) until Thursday, though I will try to have an abbreviated edition up on Tuesday morning. Hump Day will be posted early and take the S/T's place Wednesday morning.
The reason for the hiatus is also reason for the sponsor and the good news (at least for me): Nike is sending yours truly to the NYC to attend the 10am, Wednesday morning unveiling of the Pro-Combat special football uniforms that WVU (and 9 others) will wear for at least one game this year. OK, it's not an "exclusive"...I'm going "on assignment." Nike is obviously having other WVU media outlets there as well (but not many), but it's a big deal for me. It looks like the Pitt Blather blog is also going to be there covering the fashion show, so I'm assuming selected blogs from the other schools will be there too. I will have as many pictures as possible posted as soon after the event as I can manage (hopefully between 11am and noon on Wednesday, if not sooner). Nike also has a live stream scheduled for Facebook (LINKED) of the unveiling, if you're interested.
I've got lot's of Videos of Interest for ya today and news from the weekend. Its official; we've lost an academic casualty to "that green school down South." If you have any tips, suggestions or requests, you can send them to me by email or Twitter. Next stop: New York. Time to jump...
T-minus 5 and counting...
