The Shotgun/Throwdown: Tuesday (8/17/10) 1st Anniversary Edition

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale in honor of the special occasion.

Today's a somewhat special day for me here at the Shotgun/Throwdown. One year ago today, Dr. Charley West took a chance and handed me, someone he didn't really know, the keys to this feature. I was hesitant at first and it took a few days (nay, weeks?) to get my feet wet, but I finally got the hang of it by the time the FB season got rolling. 227 editions, nearly as many sponsors and Miss Throwdowns later (without repeats until today, mind you)...and here we are at the precipice of another football season for the Old Gold and Blue. I hope you all have enjoyed it as much as I have this past year. Thank you the readers and thanks to Charley and the rest of the guys for the opportunity and friendship. We're not slowing down anytime soon.

A wise man told me yesterday that we're one day closer to football season. I'm pumped, excited, stoked and just about any other word you can think of. Camp is rolling along and we've got a couple freshmen in the news (one good news, the other...not so much). All your coverage is inside, including a link to the Coach Stew Presser, airing live at 10:30 am EDT. Happy Belated Birthday to 5th Year!!! I'm always open to suggestions or requests. Just send them to me by email or Twitter. See you after the jump...
