The Shotgun/Throwdown: Big Monday (3/1/10) Hoya Gameday Edition

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions; Now nationally recognized! We're being brought to you today by Devassa Beer, in honor of today's Miss Throwdown.

Welcome to March. Do you have the Madness yet? Pretty good weekend for the Mountaineers. Huggs was finally able to get the Cinci bearcat monkey off his back (at least from the media's perspective, not his) and the women won again. In case you hadn't noticed, they've only lost 3 games this season and those were all on the road to top 10 teams. They also set a school record for BE victories and they'll finish their regular season up tonight at Syracuse. The BE Tournament for the women starts Friday (I'm not sure of the format and bye situation there yet).

Don't look now, but the men only have 2 games left before their BE tourney. We can clinch the much sought after double bye with a win tonight over the Hoyas. We haven't fared too well on the Sat to Mon quick turn around games so far this year. Will tonight be different? It's also Senior Night tonight; your last chance to see Da and Wells play in the Coliseum. Ebanks too? We'll have to wait and see...

Also, I have a tiny bit of good news regarding recruit Latwan Anderson. Keep the tips, suggestions and requests coming. A plethora of piñatas news to cover after the jump...
