Well my friends, the college football season is coming to an exciting end. Championship Saturday features a number of potentially great games with major bowl and national title implications. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to watch as much football tomorrow as possible.
After the WVU game, I'm walking over to Kegler's to watch our basketball team beat down Miami and the Gamecocks upset Auburn. After that I'll attempt to head downtown to Chic'n Bones to celebrate our BCS bid when USF defeats UConn. All-in-all, it is shaping up to be a fun and interesting Saturday in Morgantown.
I'm getting a little too excited at work right now so, lets get on with the picks...
- Florida St. ( +4) vs. Virginia Tech (neutral field)
- Nebraska (+4.5) vs. Oklahoma (neutral field)
- Auburn (-5.5) vs. South Carolina (neutral field)
- UConn (+2) @ South Florida
- Oregon (-16.5) @ Oregon St.
- Boise State (-37.5) vs. Utah State
- WVU (-20.5) vs. Rutgers
I'm still in the lead, but anything can happen during bowl season.

Florida St. ( +4) vs. Virginia Tech - I really think the play here is the under of 52.5. But gimme the underdog 'Noles if only because the teams are identical stat-wise, and the Hokies have a longer ATS streak.
-
Oklahoma (-4.5) vs. Nebraska - Landy Jones threw three picks last week, and the Sooners still won. OU doesn't turn it over in this one, and that makes the difference.
-
South Carolina (+5.5) v.s Auburn (-5.5) - Can Auburn keep coming from behind? Can the Tigers beat Spurrier twice in one season? Auburn's pee-wee offensive stategy (snap the ball to the QB and watch him run) stumbles. Maybe the Tigers win, but they don't cover.
- South Florida (-2) vs. UConn - The Huskies will know our result coming in, and it will make them play tight, error-prone ball. Add to that, UConn has covered four straight. Come on, really? The Bulls stifle them with the 21st best scoring defense in the country.
-
Oregon (-16.5) vs. Oregon State - I just think the Ducks are itching to blast someone after flubbing the number the last two. Why not put it on your hated rival in the Civil War?
- Boise State (-37.5) vs. Utah State - There are two ways Boise St. could respond last week's Pumpkin Carriage Crushing Witching Hour. The Broncos could come out and struggle again, or they could pull a 1989 WVU Mountaineers-style bounce-back after the 12-10 defeat at home against the Hokies? Anybody else remember that? WVU 69, Cincinnati 3. The Broncos mercilessly take out some frustration this week.
- WVU (-20.5) vs. Rutgers - I am a little scared of the number, but I like our 2nd ranked scoring D vs. The Bloody Knights 96th scoring O. Also, Rutgers is abysmal on third down offense (111th), a dangerous way to live against Casteel's crew, ranked second in that category. It all adds up to a 21-0 win.
