Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's best place for sports links, information and daily distractions. Today we're being brought to you by Fallen Angel Black Cat Ale, in honor of today's Miss Throwdown.

Well...that sucked. I don't know about you, but I was hoping the "close, but no dice" thing was becoming a thing of the past. But, with this team, it looks as if it will at least loom overhead, as long as the games are consistently close. Don't get me wrong, Syracuse is very good. A friend asked me to mention that Mr. West was responsible for 4 points allowed and an air-ball in 20 seconds of action. Ouch. Not much more I can say to that. At least the women are rolling. I appreciate any help with tips, suggestions and requests. On with the show...

Casazza's Notebook. Don't read too much into the headline. It's wrong, even says so in the body of the article. "The remaining money could be spread around the staff, including running backs/slot receivers coach Chris Beatty, who figures to fill Holliday's role as the recruiting coordinator." (Isn't that what editors are for?)

"No. It’s called reality. We’re good. Now let’s be great."
