Now that's the way you make a college debut.
In just 16 minutes, Danny Jennings put up 9 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks. He played like a man possessed. Quite a few of those points came via the slam dunk of the most authoritative persuasion.
Of course, this was against talent a few steps below Big East level, but for a freshman seeing his first official action in a college uniform, Jennings was the player of the game. Strong words, considering Da'Sean Butler put up 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. But it was Jennings who stole the show, becoming much more than the #23 rated center in America as Tony Caridi mentioned in the broadcast.
Jennings is the true inside presence that we've been looking for a long, long time (probably since the departure of D'Or Fisher, and even was more of the jump-shooting type). Sure, there will be slip-ups and down games, as any freshman is prone to -- but Jennings is the man. The. Man.
