They (meaning most likely an inconsiderate social media intern working for the St. John's athletic department) actually said this. In recognition of their tainted victory I doubt many Rutgers fans will be buying Vitamin Water any time soon (as Mike Repole is a major St. John's booster.) On that same note, ESPN's Eamonn Brennan mistakenly thinks that Tim Higgins should be forgiven. That would be unthinkable. This was not an isolated incident where an otherwise-superb official made one awful error, such as when Jim Joyce blew Armando Galarraga's perfect.game. Higgins is a terrible official, as is Jim Burr. The end of the Rutgers/St. John's game was only the latest in a pattern of egregious errors for each. Neither has any business ever working a Big East conference game again.
