The wish of many Mountaineer fans who follow assistant coaches closely is being granted with the hiring of Robert Gillespie by Coach Holgorsen and WVU:
"Oklahoma State running backs coach Robert Gillespie will join the staff at West Virginia. This much is confirmed. Gillespie is a former running back at Florida and, in addition to the Cowboys, has coached at South Carolina. Gillespie joins Bill Bedenbaugh and Shannon Dawson as coaches who will be on the offensive staff in Morgantown."
