The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected 20 outstanding players for its 2012 Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List. Members of the association's board of directors chose the players to be included on the list as contenders for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, to be presented to the national player of the year by its namesake in New Orleans at the USBWA's College Basketball Awards Breakfast on March 30.

WV Illustrated is reporting that newly hired defensive coach, Mike Smith is leaving the team to return to the New York Jets. This is certainly a setback. But it could come at a worse time. Like yesterday or the day before. No timetable is in place to complete the defensive staff.

Not surprisingly, Mon County Circuit Court Judge Clawges has refused a stay motion by the Big East, which means the case can move forward in WV without waiting for things to play out in the RI court. He also issued a ruling refusing a dismissal motion by the Big East.
