Yodny Cajuste, a two-way lineman Florida thought they had locked up as recently as three weeks ago, is officially a Mountaineer. The 6-6, 270 pound Cajuste hails from the strong Mountaineer pipeline that has been Miramar High School in Florida. It appears the Mountaineers were not on his radar until Dana Holgorsen hired his former head coach at Miramar, Damon Cogdell, to be part of the WVU staff. Cogdell himself is a former Mountaineer and recriuted Cajuste. Prior to his official visit, the Mountaineers had only offered Cajuste a "greyshirt," but during his trip to Morgantown, a full offer was given and that was enough for him to commit on the spot, a commitment he made official today.
Cajuste drew interest as an offensive lineman initially, but more than one scouting report has him finding a home on the defensive line for WVU. A 3-star recruit by the measure of each of the major recruiting services, Cajuste drew offers from the aforementioned Gators, Syracuse, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Oklahoma State, and Samford. Cajuste is a great story in that his first season with the Mountaineers will be only his second playing organized football. Cogdell apparently convinced him to try out for the sport just last year and recruiting interest in him didn't ramp up until he sent out a video of his senior year efforts.
Welcome to Morgantown, Yodny!
