Defensive back DaeJuan Funderburk has made it officlal, signing his letter of intent to become a West Virginia Mountaineer. The 6'-1" 185 pound safety from Friendship Academy in Washington, D.C. was rated as a 3 star by the recruiting services trio of 247Sports, Rivals and Scout.
As a touted prospect, he committed to Temple after his junior season before opening his recruitment back up last fall. Safeties coach Tony Gibson and Wide Receivers Coach Lonnie Galloway handled his recruitment for the Mountaineers as Funderburk was reportedly down to WVU and Miami in his final choice.
Funderburk is a solid prospect who most hope will add depth to a much-maligned Mountaineer defensive backfield. He reportedly had offers from Miami (FL), Arizona, Tennessee and Nebraska among others.
