William Crest, a 6'2'' 195lb QB chose West Virginia over other offers including Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech. The senior from Dunbar High school in Baltimore, MD, had an impressive high school career and Mountaineer fans are very optimistic and excited for what this gentleman can do for our football program in the coming years. If Dunbar High School rings a bell to Mountaineer fans it's because it's the same school standout and now St. Louis Rams Tavon Austin attended.
Crest has a lot of physical tools that could make him a very good quarterback for the Mountaineers. He is one of the better dual threat QBs in the 2014 class and he definitely has the arm strength needed to be an efficient quarterback. How fast he can pick up Dana Holgorsen's offense and compete for playing time is yet to be determined, however Mountaineer faithful are very big on Crest's upside and this is a great pick up for West Virginia community. West Virginia has done extremely well with a dual threat QB over the years and Crest can bring that added option with his feet that was severely lacking last year in the pocket. Anticipation is high on this young man and we can't be happier that he chose West Virginia.
Welcome Home William Crest!
