Three star athlete chooses WVU over Auburn, Boston College, and UConn
Wendell Smallwood, a 5'10, 195 lbs running back from Eastern Christian Academy in Elkton, MD, has committed to the West Virginia University Mountaineers. He was offered by other schools such as Auburn, Boston College, UConn, amongst others. His commitment came in August 2012 stating that the chance to play in the Big XII had a major part in his decision. He is already enrolled at WVU as of this spring semester.
While his role is still up in the air, the Mountaineer offense will find quick use of his combination of both power and speed. This will prove useful with the departure of so many threats on the offensive side of the ball for WVU. Even if Smallwood can only contribute in his early years for pure depth, he will find comfort in Holgo's offense.
Welcome aboard, Wendell.
