Al-Rasheed Benton is a 6'2" 220 lb linebacker from Malcolm X Shabazz High in Newark, NJ. Originally recruited by former WVU Coach Jake Spavital, Benton honored his commitment to the Mountaineers despite Spavital's departure to Texas A&M. Rated three stars by both Scout and Rivals, Benton chose the Mountaineers over offers from the likes of Penn State, Pitt, Maryland and Syracuse, among several others.
